Apple’s new Mac Mini looks great, but the star of the feature set is the price. I wrote about it when it was rumoured, and I said:
…the Tim Cook way is to introduce a redesign of the new item with a price hike, and also keep the existing product at the same price. This just causes confusion and frustration with two different designs of the Mini lineup. But Apple has done this multiple times before, lately with the MacBook Air redesign. I hope this is not the route Apple will take with regard to the Mac Mini, but I fear I might be wrong.
And I wasn’t wrong! It still starts at the great price of £599/$599, and if you’re a student, you can get it for £499/$499. The base model at this price includes 16GB of RAM (though the SSD remains at 256GB), but what an incredible price for a fantastic little Mac that’s small in size but not in performance.
I am not going to list out all the other features, or go on about how impressively small it is, you can read about it here. I don’t need one, but I’m seriously contemplating getting one just for the sake of it!
